Email is fast becoming one of the most waste-ful worktime activities. There is nothing that replaces speaking in person or at very least over the phone. Emotion and inflection allows for much better communication and cannot be replaced by the written email which is too short many times improperly translated and eludes to less successful communication.
It is a great way to get the attention from a party that you would like to contact or be contacted by.
