Story: Pushing 'shift' draws lawsuit
This is ridiculous. The DMCA is just a get out for companies who produce shoddy software
to sue anyone that lets the world know how cr*p they are.
I have Auto Run disabled by default on all my PCs.
This was initially to prevent annoying DVDs which try to install their own player.
It used to be a registry hack but for XP it's been made easy:
In Explorer Right-click on the drive icon for your CD drive, CD recorder, or DVD drive, and select Properties.
Choose the AutoPlay tab, Select Music CD, click Select an action to perform and select the option Take no action.
Now they can sue me for providing the info and MS for shipping the tools.
