Interesting article. I'm currently researching the VoWLAN space and agree with a lot of what you say. It will be interesting to see how well the dual-mode cellular/WLAN phones promised (eg Motorola's) for 2004 work, although i don't expect "mainstream" ones until 2005.

I can think of one possible killer app for VoWLAN though - the ability to use WiFi phones onboard aircraft equipped with Boeing's Connexion WLAN service - cellular is still banned but WiFi is OK. $20 for a transatlantic flight's worth of phone calls, anybody?
