Story: Authors may challenge Amazon full-text search

I don't agree with authors' fear that people will dip in, print what they need and leave.

The other day, I've dowloaded a PDF file which enclosed 4 consecutive chapters of Web Design book resulting in my purchase because I really like what I saw.

Although there's always a risk that some individuals would just snatch some paragraphs and run, there's also the possiblity that some publications will sell more. It's human nature to prefer a well bound book which is easier to handle than few snippets printed on paper and attached with paper-clips.

If I were an author I would welcome this new amazon feature.
