I can not see how the directive would threaten jobs! It just levels the playing field so that real innovation gets merit...As an example...how can one click selling be an innovation?

If anything it would allow smaller startups to flourish with new innovation without having to worry about being squashed from the so called big players.

Anyone with any sense can see straight through the letters predicting the end of Europe because of the patent rulings! This is advanced scare tactics at its best!

I now find it amazing that the directive can now be pulled from the vote...I must say that this is becoming more of a dictatorship than a democratic vote

Its about time Europe took lead on this...No one country can claim so much power through patent enforcement in something so crucial to the world as Information Technology. The US as done this in their own country and now the big players are trying to force the move in Europe.

If the US/UK interests are allowed to take root then imagine the domino effect which would sweep through the European states. IT touches every sector in every market...this ruling is one of the most important rulings in history...Software patents of the kind generated in the US today cannot be allowed to become law in Europe...It would have dire consequences to the rest of the world...I am not exagerating I am being deadly serious!
