What a fascinating idea!

However it might benefit from being even more widely applied than the article suggests.

After all, currently the only occupations that might end up in jail from an honest error, rather than a corrupt decision, are pilots, health care professionals, accountants and er criminals.

SO let's make politicians accountable to the law!

If they make a promise and fail to keep it, let's jail them!

If journalists make an error of fact, let's jail them too!

In fact let's cut a swathe of terror through the whole of industry and public life, and before we know it the biggest employers in the world will be the jails.

Or we could get some sanity back by realising that the last way to prevent error is to punish it severely.

It's been tried before, and all that happens is false reporting and blame-shifting.

Which is no way to run a world.
