Story: More stealth as outsourcing picks up speed
Can't find the right spin? How about this--
The good news is that fewer and fewer Americans will have to go to work in the morning. They will have less trouble managing their money because there will be no such thing as "disposable income."
This means that fewer people will be able to buy products from IBM, ATT et al. These companies will then be able to justify much more in the way of downsizing. Then fewer people have "disposable income." The cycle repeats until the bottom drops out of the world market completely and the crime rates soars!
By this time most municipalities are without something that used to be called the" industrial tax base". Police layoffs, firefighter and EMS layoffs follow and property insurance rates soar!
Eventually, there are a lot of people living in the streets and stealing to feed themselves and their families as the remnants of overworked, understaffed police forces rely more and more on brutality to maintain order. The prison industry is doing really swell by now.
Food riots break out in major cities and brigands roam the countryside. Nobody is buying anything from IBM, ATT et al by now.
And then, Karl Marx is beginning to look like a prophet to the huddled masses. ( even now the membership of the International Socialist Worker's Party is rising)
As brutal repression by the corporate police state escalates, an incident occurs where the people start shooting at the police. As the police are killed in the street, the mob heads for the nearest gated community where brutal atrocities are committed. Television stations, radio stations are seized, and a commune is declared.( for some reason, the act of depriving people of their livlihood is never termed "an atrocity"--just good business practice)
In the subsequent reign of terror, anyone with assets remaining is called an "enemy of the people." Pudgy, trembling CEO's are executed to the cheers and jeers of gathered crowds-- the very same people who used to work for IBM,ATT et al.
Of course, that could NEVER happen here.
By the way, I'm not a revolutionary person. I'm a retired firefighter/paramedic and student of history.
