Story: What will become of Apple?
So i take it you've not really used a Mac properly then. Mac's make life easier, much easier. How long does it take to set up a PC when you format a drive, and digging up all those driver disks, such fun.
I've used both machines for a long time now, and to be quite honest I can' be bothered with Pc's. There is a viscious bigger, better, and faster mentality with them, if you can get a faster processor then thats better, perhaps if developers optimised their software to give the best possible performance, rather than just coding it and waiting for a faster processor to come out and make their software run faster.
Oh, and have you looked at iCal, Mail, and Address Book? There are more Mac users i know who actually use all three applications, than are those who bother to work out how to manage their time, contacts and email in outlook or OE.
Consider if you gave your mother a computer, would you give her something easy to use? How long have you spent trying to explain to her about filing, and how to print envelopes in office. Yes MS have got monopoly, but thats only because the whole world use it, why? Well the PCs it works on can be bought for peanuts (please note how many people look to upgrade after a few weeks of ownership), which definately will sway the business buyer, the software comes free everytime you buy a new computer basically because no-one would buy windows given the choice - when emule and Kazaa let us get it for free! Oh yes and before i forget - Mail works perfectly with Exchange server, oh and it'll sync your address book too.
All i ask is next time you spend the time to write an article try and treat both machines as equals, rather than trying to spot the holes. I also noticed that security and virus software wasn't mentioned - clearly there is little paranoia about viruses and security issues with macs, compared to the millions of pounds earned by virus software manufacturers, and the millions made in firewalls now. Surely this is evidence enough for seriosu business users to consider (who are forking out thousands a year for virus protection) whi really wants to hack a mac? MS are the enemy so picking a PC over a Mc is really like saying..Yeah, I know my data is safe, oh is that another bad worldwide virus attack on Microsoft, thats okay because i trust a company who has the whole world attacking them.
To close, what does happen if the world decides MS isn't the way to go. Only the Mac has the softare businesses require so it looks like the next 20 years of regular attacks on secrity holes in MS will continue and the business user will get steadily unimpressed with the ammount they have to pay to ensure their internal network is secure (and i can see Norton, and Mcafee rubbing their hands together with glee - heck they probably comission 90% of the viruses to be realeased to boost sales anyway).
Right I've vented - just please write in an unbiased way, this is a general PC thing - and PC covers apples as well.
Oh and without windows and emule I'd be a lot lighter on the software front - so keep MS going until I can afford my own software.
