I think that anything which can bring more competion to the internet, particularly to companies like Yahoo & MSN is a very good thing.
The main reason for this being that Yahoo! especially seems to think it has "Godlike" powers. One's accounts get deleted for no good reason, and explanations for this are very bland, from these faceless people.
Their TOS are frequently broken, and some seem to get away with this, whilst others get penalised. I hope that Google runs message boards, and the E-mail service runs well. I for one, shall sign-up for an account when it is available.
