disabling the messenger is a good idea, but
outlook express will get screwed up if you
use regedit in xp home edition to turn it off
as kb database indicates it should be done.
i reinstalled after deleting the key the article
suggested and all was fine again. if you
disable microsoft instant messenger, this will
cause your outlook express to open very
slowly and you will need to cntrl-alt-del to
close it. thank you microsoft for forcing the
program upon us oy
