I have been subscribed to Tiscali 512 24/7 Broadband since July 2003 and can NOT recommend their services at all.
It took 6 weeks to get the service set up, and then 2 months to get to a 400+ speed.
I NEVER achieved over 450 no matter what equipment - PC or MAC, their Sagem modem or my own DLink 604+ Modem /Router - or software (XP or OS X) I used.
November 2003-February 2004 were acceptable with 300-400 speed, but since early March the speed started dropping alarmingly, and now I must be on a much worse contention ratio than 1:50, probably 1:500 - 1:1000, and the speed in the evening drops to below 20, even below 10, as opposed to the advertised 512 - I must be throttled beyond belief. Not even a standard modem line gets that bad, let alone ISDN, not mentioning "broadband"!
It is impossible to get any improvement, to phone through for technical help - you can hold the line for hours and NEVER get through. E-mails and letters remain unanswered.
I warn ANYONE before they fall into the same 12-month trap as I did.
