Perhaps Stalin lives in Washington these days?

It's funny in some strange way.
During the cold war the US was the good guy because of lots of civil freedoms and rights and Russia was the bad guy because everyone there had to life in fear, uncertainty and doubt.

Nowedays the US exploits fear, uncertainty and doubt to implement law after law that takes chunks out of all those civil freedoms and rights each and every time. No questions, just do it. And be sure that any found "flaw" later on will be patched up in similiair quick-and-dirty ways.

We laugh. But we forget that the US is not alone in this since they're not the only country taking chunks out of civil freedoms and rights on grounds of fear, uncertainty and doubt.

In short. Emotionally fueled powers don't like to be tapped on the fingers nor shoulders. And there're not good in thinking things through. Just making things up along the way as they move along.
