When people buy a car it comes with a free stereo. A lot of people choose to replace it with a better one because there are a lot of great stereos on the market.

When people buy windows it comes with a free media player. People can choose to replace it if they wish.

My sympathy really is with Microsoft for once. The problem is that the competition provide inferior products loaded with spyware so people choose to stick with Media Player. If someone provided a much better product people would buy it.

The EU ruling is bad for users. If MS aren't allowed to include Media Playerfor free we'll all be forced to pay extra for an addon in future. It's also bad for competition as it is attempting to force a place in the market for inferior products.
