Story: Apple's patent bending
Apple Paid Xerox for the GUI ideas. Did Microsoft pay apple?
You have to ask yourself where would Micorsoft be today if they did not mimic the apple GUI. With windows. It would probably be a lot better.
OSX has been around for more than three years, what is Longhorn going to be, when is it going to be availible?
I think computer companies need to start thinking for themslefs. It is like Apple is the R&D team of the computing world.
I think that Looking Glass has potential, good on you Sun, for pumping money into A&D. We would have better interfaces if everyone spent money this way.
I would like a stabe and intuitive computer, the more companies who spend money on this the faster the human race benifits from intuitieve time saving interfaces.
Think about all the hours people have spent trying to get printers to work with computers, if there was a simple intuitive interface, this time would be used for some thing better, I hope.
good on you apple, for trying to recoop some of that money.
not that I really like patents, especially on things like "the wheel" and "rice DNA sequences".
