Story: AOL worker 'sold email addresses to spammers'
Wow. Big deal. While the US authorities bust about one spammer per month on average, the international e-mail system continues to collapse under the massive weight of American spam.
*Nothing* serious is being done about it. E-mails routinely vanish in transit because over-tight spam filters no longer care about false positives.
E-mail was once a great application. It has been killed by American spammers, and no-one cares enough to do anything about it. Not even agreeing on a standard for positive sender identification. Oh well....
