Story: Unpicking Microsoft's patchwork
Good Point: MS web update service will not work for non-IE browsers. We can still receive automatic updates if we want to use other web browsers. Here's are Microsoft's instructions to do this: http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/windowsxp/updates.asp
NOTE: Windows 95/98/NT are no longer supported with new updates, but archived security patches are available (see the web page linked above).
