Story: French music store claims iPod 'anticompetitive'
Stephen, the two are completely different situations.
You are free to install any office suite you like on your PC, and there are a number of 'free' suites that will read and let you edit documents stored in Microsoft file formats. Now AFAIK an IPod will only play music protected by Apples DRM, which locks out all other music retailers as they cannot produce music files in the correct format for an IPod, this leaves Apples ITunes store as being the only place you can buy music for your IPod, which is pretty anti competitive.
