One 'flaw' in the plan you've not touched upon.
Several of Sun's tactics essentially amount to villifying the enemy. When you you start this course, you're saying:
1} "The opposition is as good or better than we are." Microsoft's own internal writings have indicated that villification of Linux was a loosing proposition.
2} Business is based upon 'good-will', when not controlled by a monopoly. While there are still incredibly stupid buyers out there, I believe that there are a higher percentage of savvy buyers who's 'good-will' will be reduced by this type of negative campaign. i.e. Even if villification is accurate, just that fact that Sun is doing it will cost them lots in terms of potential customer loyalty.
