Story: Dell to factory-install SuSE Linux
I got my new Dell a week ago, with the standard ms win xp home and a lot of stuff I don't want on it: I straight made room(read partitions) formy data and a Suse 9.1 Personal in it, and some room to put a hard disk installed Knoppix becoming a real Debian.
For the hardware: I didn't have any problem with Suse, the only thing with Knoppix3.6 is my Intel integrated sound, but that should be fixed with loading the right module. But you may be certain, if Dell sold their products with nothing installed, I would make a lot easier choice. And selling with a good Linux on it is a good beginning, too.
Have fun...
