Av's ,Anti-Spy ,etc. that's all fine to me BUT ,most off them generate conflicts with XPsp 2,checked it out myself ,Avast :big problem s format C was all I could do ,AVG should get the bugs out first and the download problem isn't the only one!
AVfree,works nice but do you really like it when they are using your pc as a guiny pig for their fast downloads ( check the datastream at night !)
So ,finally after testing several applications and growing more desperate ,I went to a local store just outside and BOUGHT myself a combined package
firewall and Avscanner in 1 ,Bullguard and guess what ; no more problems ,none what so ever .
So get rid of all the free stuff , and the " big guys"
get yourself a brand which will charge you but still
has to prove itself to get a "piece of the action" .
Concerning anti -spy : get PCTools' Spyware Dr.
fair price ,good results and whit subscription , very good support . MS anti-spy has a serious security flaw,like everything else they make ( for crying out loud )
Using XPsp2 ,P 4 550 HT and 1024 MB ram .
