Story: Microsoft adds IP indemnity to Linux fight
If Microsoft beat Linux on the fear of indemnity, then you (America) have only your silly legal system that allows patenting of abstract, common concepts to blame, and allows the Microsofts of this world to hold companies to ransom based on it.
Lets hope that Europe keeps some sense and keeps patents out of software. Also, wouldn't it be nice, if companies had to pay for raising frvolous lawsuits, which would reduce the temptation for patent bullying and the likes of SCO.
