Story: Microsoft warns governments of Linux lawsuit threat
Pesumably, as no one has come "looking" so far, this is a FUD threat from Microsoft that they may try and use some of the software patents that they have been aquiring over the last year or so. I wonder how IBM, Novell and others would feel about that? Maybe Microsoft have applied for a patent to the term "Desktop" - it's as plausable as getting one for another generic term, "Windows".
Bullmer must be getting some flack from BG to make such a proposterous statement. Either that or delusions of extreme grandeur to think that he can dictate terms to sovereing entities. Or, maybe, they've been dictating terms to private and corporate entities for so long that they've come accustomed to the role.
