don't hold your breath expecting microsoft to validate this story. although they got out of the antitrust controversy basically squeaky clean, i doubt they are going to incriminate themselves and invite another suit. if they say anything at all it will be so much drivel that you can wax your car with it. as long as the office user can go to the office site and manually download the office update and run it on their wine-enable box, microsoft has a way out. and just making life difficult is not a crime. it doesn't sell product. but it's not against the law. although sometimes i wish it were.
