Story: Power failure knocks Web sites offline

The power failure at RedBus HEX also damaged lots of equipment including power supplies for many servers, routers, switches and power distribution systems. Most power wasn't actually available to customers until around 1pm, some longer. Some of the equipment damaged by the power outage caused problems into Wednesday. Redbus engineers were so tied up with problems they took around 5 hours to respond.

Could it be that ISP’s are making this out to be a bigger problem than it actually is? We’re a small country with an internet penetration of less than 60%, for every Youtuber there’s someone who only uses the internet to check their emails, more people surf on their mobile handsets than a few years ago. Surely things should even themselves up.
