Usual AV company splurge to try to cause panic and an increase in their sales.

Many arguments can be put against the OSX statement, mostly proving nothing.
The need for an root password in OSX makes it more secure and less easy for malicious software to install itself.

As both a Mac and PC user, I have only ever had one issue with my MS box, and if I had updated my patches as normal this would be zero.....

As for the Mac, nothing......

I dont think there will be any marketing driven panic purchases here.
