Zaphod, the clue is that too many .NET addicted developers out there are so FUD'd that they actually believe that .NET will take care of all that needs to be taking care of. That's not the case, it isn't reality. Until then the .NET dream will slowly but surely cave in on itself simply because it's based on empty promises.

.NET doesn't provide all the answers and until that sinks in unrealistic assumptions will be made that'll turn out to be severly punished by reality. And once reality does sinks in it'll turn out that there are better offers out there. As is usual when dealing with package deals, house of cards solutions and more.

What's left to say is the following: don't bet on a single horse. Keep your options open. Don't overspecialize. Since nothing lasts forever and things happening now are bound to be over quicker then you can adjust if you're overspecialized.
