I also find choice important. Even think it's vital for innovation, quality and so on because without competition there's no need to improve. And without improvement one falls behind.
As for Microsoft versus RealNetworks. Microsoft should have learned by now that they shouldn't accuse someone of what they themselves do and have done many times over. Besides, that's not what the case is about.
PS: have you tried WinAmp yet? Linspire? etc etc
