Allowing better Open-source interoperability with Microsoft products should be the main objective of the EC's actions.

It is open-source software that Microsoft has admitted in many different ways it is trying to effectively "kill-off" open-source and with a user-base of 100's of millions it is easy if they continue to intentionally design their products not to work (and to make it almost impossible for others to facilitate compatability) with open-source ones.
