Minor article correction, there are 100 Firefox coins not 50.
It was a great thing to see. Sitting there watching the counter edge closer and closer to 50m. Counting down the last 1000 downloads which went by in a few minutes. It was incredible to see the reality of how often Firefox is downloaded.

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
