Story: FSF works on 'fully free' OpenOffice
I am writing an application that runs on Linux and Windows, and it uses identical code for each: Java.
My greatest wish for the Java environment is that the language is open source- whether by Sun or by the FSF. Preferably the latter, as it would then not be tied to a particular vendor.
I love Java the language and the ability that it gives me to instantly write a cross-platform app. But its semi-free status (the freeness is only in its price) does make me nervous.
