Of course they exploit it IBM uses it as another way to keep 100,000 consultants busy creating code to make open source useful in business. That is whay an open source desktop will never make it because the large companies do not see a return on investment any time soon so they will not spend any serious money on it. The Open source community has disappointed me by jumping on the Corporate bandwagon and the reality is it is just another software choice and guess what it is not always the best choice.
