Story: Concern grows about Bulldog's broadband service
I opted for Bulldog's Broadband Service at the tail end of last year. After 3 weeks I still wasn't connected so called them and they apologised and agreed to cancel my order (Mu suggestion!) and said they would "clear" their broadband marker from my BT phone line (within 7 days) so i could migrate to another ISP. A week later I discover they haven't removed "marker" and when I phoned them I was kept on hold for 45 minutes then they told me they had no record of my Cancellation and that I was locked in a 12 month contract. I disputed this and they agreed (AGAIN!) to cancel the contract and clear the marker and that it would be clear within 4 weeks (Huh?!). So a month later I find marker still hasn't been removed. Furious I contact them and am again told they have no record of my cancelation and that I'm in a 12 month contract. I then visit Citizens advice and they take on my case and they too are told that there has been a mistake giving the excuse of inexperienced staff and say contract will be cancelled and marker will be removed within a month. So a month later and guess what - marker still hasn't been removed (Same reasons as before). I now seek legal advice and involve trading standards. Several weeks later I'm contacted to say Contract has been cancelled and marker has been removed. The sting in the tail however is that the very day they cancelled contract they take £50 out of my account after agreeing not to take any money out and refund any money they had taken. My advice to anyone contemplating joining Bulldog. DON'THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS - CRIMINALS MASQUERADING AS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS. AVOID, AVOID AVOID AVOID
