Story: The PDA: It's not dead yet

I happen to own a Palm Zire 31 - a basic little unit that only cost me $150 (US) yet holds as much as my previous Pocket PC device (by Dell) which, despite it's name, could never fit in my pocket.

I find having a Palm indespensible. If I forget to bring it with me, inevitably, that will be the day I need it. When I have it with me, conversations about what I'm doing next week are easy to answer and address entries (complete with zip codes) are always at hand. Web pages are downloaded each morning and saved to memory for later recall so I can tell you the weather forcast and what's playing at the local theater tonight.

Dead? Hardly! My guess is they'll become more a part of our lives - even if their functions get swallowed up by smart phones ("smart" meaning anything that didn't originate at Microsoft).
