One day, not too far in the future, micropayments offerings will be used as an alternative to the high fees associated with the credit card use but applications are key in unlocking the micropayment potential. Jjust as Skype is unlocking the VoIP potential and changing the global telecommunications field, eventually there will be some application which will do the same for the global micropayments field.

I think email applications have the most potential with micropayments, or at least is the one being tried the most (www.1-900eMAIL.us). Time will tell.
