Story: Motorola Q: a first look

I'm curious as to why the Motorola Q is being compared to the Treo 650, as the current XDA seems like a closer competitor. Maybe I'm missing something, as when I've used the XDA I've found it to be a great piece of kit.

Is the XDA's absence just an oversight, or is there something fundamentally wrong with it? OK, there have been some reliability problems, but after shopping around for a 'smart' phone that's not a Tomy toy pretending to be clever I've found nothing to compare with an XDA, not even the Blackberry (before you start!), which seems flat and uninspiring in comparison.

Put simply, what is the compelling reason to pay ~$200 extra for an Eee with Windows XP? A Windows Eee won't come with any useful applications and you'll have to buy anti-virus software to boot. The truth about low cost computing is that nobody really cares whether the machine is running Windows or Linux as long as its cheap, its easy to use and it works.
