Story: Firefox loses market share
I started using FireFox since it was first available for download, and have been updating every time a new version or patch were made available (I’m now on version 1.0.6)
I was first excited about using something that is not M$ to surf the net. However, with time some of the web sites that I constantly visited like certain news or live radio sites did not work under FireFox, so I was forced to use Explorer just to access these sites! Which is annoying because I had already stored all my favourites in FireFox.
I was latter forced to move back to Explorer altogether because FireFox and for some obscure reason stopped being able to open PDF applications (that I badly need), and that was the final straw.
I’m now using IE and don’t think I’ll experiment again for some time. I’ve been let down too many times in the past by other browsers claiming superiority like Netscape and Opera (they all have flaws and compatibility issues, and life is simply too short to waste).
BTW. another reason that encouraged me to switch back is my USB Lexar Media “Jump Drive”, it has IE and Outlook express built in to it so I can carry all my settings with me wherever I go.
