Microsoft actually did not win anything - the Judge ruled that Kai Fu-Lee could go to China and start building a reserach centre there for Google, that he could recruit staff, deal with Govt. officials and talk to University Professors about recruiting students - all things that Microsoft had asked the Judge to forbid him from doing. Mr Lee (and Google) had already agreed to abide by the agreement he signed with MS not to work on search engines etc. Of course this was not good enough for MS and they did not want him to be allowed to do anything, a very wide interpretation of U.S. law, which the Judge has not agreed with.

So MS did not win anything - yet they spin it, and you report without really doing your journalistic homework !
