Story: 24Mbps broadband arrives in the UK

I cant see the dates on these threads here...today is April 13th, anyone out there with broadband can tell me if they had problems with getting the service up and running? Im not concerned about it once im connected, its the broken promoises of waiting and things going wrong as experienced with bulldog. Do you think it worth it if Im 1.8km from the exchange?
