Story: Developers 'should be accountable' for security holes

I agree! Companies themselves, as well as the Executives and Management Team should not be held accountable at all! What were we thinking?
The brick layer (codesmith) should be held directly responsible for the design decisions/architecture of any building project. Shoot, we know that darn brick layer chose the suppliers, the architect, the plumbers, electricians, and handled the real estate details as well! What were we thinking?
Electric problem (fire/security hazard)? It's the developer. Plumbing (flooding/security hazard)? It's the developer. Poor bricks supplied by supplier (framework/security hazard)? It's the developer. What were we thinking?
The brick layer should've known that they couldn't trust anyone else to do their job right and it's their responsiblity alone to ensure the entire project is successful - even throughout time when the weather changes. That poor little brick layer, building the exteriors of all of those houses, should be punished - for the houses could not withstand the forces of Katrina and Rita. What were we thinking?
I guess more "brick training" would help?
