Story: Everyone's liable to make mistakes
I am NOT a programmer, nor any sort of technical geek;just a longtime homeuser but my opinion is that outfits like Microsoft or anyone else is simply not careful enough with the creation of their product.NOW--we have a situation where Microsoft is going to charge US to protect THEIR product??!!.How stupid, disengenious is that?!.
I have found over the long term, that those fellows within the confines of their own homes(or wherever)come up with far,far better finished products, take the time to test it,beat it to death, before they offer it up to the public.
Far as I'm concerned,if these large companies want to rush a product into the hands of consumers, then they are the ones who ought to be responsible for protecting it---not me--at MY expense.
As far as the comments on aircraft and aircraft engines goes,it doesn't matter if a plane is 20 years old, something happens,it can still be the fault of the builder--not the purchaser in the event of a catastrophy.
Too many large corporations figure that we,the public are numbskulls, gullible and have nothing but money to throw around.Am very slowly being dragged towards having nothing on my system but open source, cancel out my complete dedication to Microsoft as it exists now.
Keep it free, then,if a person likes what they are using and want to make a donation to help the creator of a product to do more,by all means. Then,we know where our money is going at least and not into some large black hole.Thx
