Story: Microsoft stakes application future on integration

Bullocks. Various existing Microsoft Windows products don't even have the same user interface (different commands to get the same results and all that). So Microsoft's argument that 'more of the same' is better is simply bogus.

Last time I checked plenty of people can very quickly learn what commands to use to get things done within whatever program. Ask anyone who installed whatever game on whatever platform (PlayStation, Xbox, PC, whatever).

As for the integration. Yeah right. Microsoft definition of integration is simply: use whatever we offer last. In other words: pay for whatever we RTM'd lately. Don't like? Well, use it it the meantime anyway and wait for whatever we offer next. Just don't go looking for alternatives. We're very afraid you might like it that much more. Especially the price.
