After years of lobbying for exactly such a community effort I only have one comment: let ISP's choose their own software and methods to track down zombied PC's, spam and such. Plenty of "off the shelf", free even, solutions are out there.

Thing is that strenght lies in numbers, getting to the cause as close to the source as possible and diversity. Let me say that again: diversity.

We can't have one well-funded spammer find the "magic bullet" and cave in the whole system.
