The internet is managing to run fairly well at present and is developing continually under commercial pressure. The last thing that is wanted is any for of government or UN/EU control. Certainly there is a need for governments to work together to eliminate the few nasties like child pornography, racial or religious hatred and the such which could well be managed by a representative from perhaps the top 10 user countries forming a supervisory internet body. But definitely not under that most innefficient and corrupt body, the United Nations.
