I have worked in IT as a senior system engineer for a large organisation (10.000 Users)for many years, and am a prolific home user "Sad" I Know.

I have, like others my views about companys such as symantic buying out a company just to close the access to free software such as - Sygate - which was in my humble opinion an excellent program.

But I think the point not to miss here is the "issue" and that is that in my 'again' humble opinion - all symantec programs are trouble - they are bloatware - very buggy - not value for money - poor performance products - stay clear off them.

If you want a good value for money Anti Virus application or firewall then buy the Trend Penicillin offers - fully Intergrated applications giving you all round protection - firewall - Anti Virus etc.

I started in IT 20 years ago and if my experience counts for anything - I have tried nearly all Anti Virus and Firewall offers on the market - Symantec Norton Anti Public Anti Free is a waste of space.
