Cloud Cuckoo land ? Promotions and golden handshakes all round are the order of the day. In fact with all this experience of IT they would be prime candidates for the Identity Card programme.
In the immortal words of TB we need to draw a line under this, learn from our (meaning other people's) mistakes and move on.

The long standing central and local government recruitment policy of hiring "Yes men" falls down badly when there is no longer anyone intelligent to say yes to.
