Just got back from Channel 9 (the video and people behind this are good), the 45 deg thing is excellent, it'll never zoom to what you want but then there are reasons for that.
I felt form the video that the reasons were genuine as to why only a few areas were 45 deg compatible, although Mass is completely covered, I felt however for a launch it would have been nice to have one city from all countries 45 deg mapped, or at leat a bit ot show good on Earth part of the service.
