Story: Lock floppy drives on Windows 2000 Pro machines with Floplock.exe

Jim, read your article, and to be fair it was interesting as I had never heard of floplock.exe.

But have you heard of DeviceLock ?

IT is a centrally deployed and managed application that can control any device on a PC or Server.

So for instance you can lock CD and Floppy drives, USB and Firewire, WiFi , all this can be done centrally with managment tools, by machine and user, or for enterprise level organisations you can use Group Policy to configure the DeviceLock application on the clients.

Users cannot remove or disable to the client installed service, they can only request temporary access to a USB device from an Devicelock temporary access tool in their control panel.
