Story: ID card bill savaged by the Lords, again

Clark already stated this morning that he will ignore all Lords amendments and revert back to what was before parliament. I was taught politics by a Welsh socialist teacher, who stated that much as he hated them, the (old) House of Lords were there to STOP any Government being elected on a populist vote and misusing their majority to pass laws which were bad for the country and its people as a whole.
