It is sad that for many people "Freedom of Speech" has gained more value than freedom. I ask what is the alternative to censoring the internet for minors? Should we allow pornographers complete access to young minds so they can addict them early? I don't think we should worry so much about privacy if everyone was doing descent things on the internet. Are we hiding behind the virtue of privacy because we really want to cover up the fact that we as humans use the internet to look at pornography and we don't want anyone to know about it? I think that we need to realize that some things have more value than freedom of speech like the happiness of our children. The men who decided that freedom of speech was a right also said that the pursuit of happiness is a inalienable right as well. With my experiences with those involved with pornography all that it brings is selfishness, sadness, broken families and shame. Again I ask, should we just let the pornographers into our homes and allow them to enslave our children because they claim freedom of speech gives them the "right"? Maybe the government wants to control our minds by manipulating the internet but hey I think the pornographers have a lot more to lose than the government could gain with this one.
