HSDPA is the future but in it's infancy. 3G currently uses QPSK modulation and HSDPA will in it's intial rollout phase utilise multiple DCH in the downlink. When we will really see HSDPA fly is when we start using a 16QAM modulation, but this is not due until release 5.
